The local liquor-shop or off-licence carries spirits, wines, beer and other alcoholic beverages. All the liquor shops in Iceland belong to The State Alcohol and Tobacco Company of Iceland and they are they only shops legally permitted to sell alcoholic beverages in the country. They are called Vinbudin and are easily recognizable by their red wine grapes logo.
The legal drinking age in Iceland is 20 years.
