Seydisfjordur – Lodmundarfjordur
The hike begins at the deserted Kolsstadir farm and follows Hjalmardalsheidi mountain trail (556 m), which used to be main route between the two fjords. The trail on the edge of the cliffs is steep, particularly on the tallest points. Kolstadaa and Hjalma rivers are not bridged so one needs to wade across. Fjardara river in Lodmundarfjordur fjord is bridged by Saevarendi area. There are several cairns along the trail and on one of them is a visitors‘ book. There are nesting eiders in Saevarendi area, so please show consideration and stay on marked paths.
Duration: 5-6 klst | Distance: 12 km
