Our rooms are situated in two historical buildings from the turn of the 19th century, which are divided into two hotels; Hótel Aldan and Hotel Snæfell. In these two buildings we offer 18 beautiful rooms, each with its own unique soul and characteristics.

Hotel Aldan
Hotel Aldan used to house the bank of Seydisfjordur for almost a century and before that one of the best hotels in Iceland. All efforts has been made to preserve the historical atmosphere while adding modern convenience.
Due to the flexible architectural layout several rooms can be combined so they either form suites or family rooms for 4 to 6 persons, without adding any extra beds.

Hotel Snæfell
Hotel Snæfell a three story wooden house built in 1908 situated by the mouth of the river “Fjarðará”. It has beautiful views over the small bay in the center of town. This natural estuary is home to birdlife, trout and the occasional Atlantic Grey Seal. The house was first used as the local post office and then in 1943 it was turned into a hotel.

Reception – Restaurant – Café
In our friendly little restaurant located in one of Iceland´s oldest stores, our menus are mostly built up with local raw materials of the season. In the summer the restaurant is open all days serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hafaldan youth hostel has been run by Thora Gudmundsdottir since 1975. Thora lives in the hostel with her staff. This makes the hostel more of a home than simply a sleeping bag accommodation. We would like you to come and visit us!

Gistihús Sillu offers three double rooms. The rooms are located on ground floor in house in peaceful neighborhood. All rooms includes made beds and wireless Internet. Extra mattresses available. Skálanes nature and heritage centre is situated in a sympathetically restored icelandic farm house set within its own nature reserve at the mouth of Seyðisfjorður in the East fjords region of Iceland. Dramatic snow capped mountains, vast sea cliffs, secluded beaches, vibrant meadows are all bounded by the sea making Skálanes a place for relaxation, learning, contemplation and a different pace of life.

At Skalanes we have 4 person bunk bed bedrooms of which two have an option of a double bed for couples. 　A fireplace, a spacious living room, a library, sauna, hot tub and a outdoors fireplace connected to a large outdoors deck are some of the things you can enjoy while staying with us.

Electricity and WC facilities for campers, a service building where you can find dining room, cooking facilities, showers, barbeque, hot and cold water, washing machine and a dryer. Restaurants, café, swimming pool, sauna, hot tubs, playground for children, golf course, trout fishing, kayaking, marked hiking trails, biking rent, sea fishing, cruising and bird watching within 300 – 500 m distance. The camping card “Útilegukortið” can be bought at the camp ground.

Norðursíld guesthouse, nice comfy guesthous situated at the south side of the fjord, where used to be a fishfactory. If you’re looking for a special athmosphere, this is the place . We offer seven double rooms with showers.

Guesthouse Ola is a quiet little spot perfect for a small family or couples.

The private entrance lets you into a spacious „L“ shaped bedroom with a double bed and a comfortable bunk bed. There you will have your sofa, table and chairs along with the closet and dresser. In addition it is possible to get an extra mattress.

The bathroom is yours exclusively and the refrigerator too.

There are also two bedrooms on the main floor with double beds with a shared bathroom and shower.
